SPEAKING GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
CHAPTER SEVEN-REFLECTION
It is clearly stated in the key verse that “God set the members every one in the body” God has set these gifts in the body of Christ for special reasons according to his will and pleasure.
I discover here the grouping of these gifts as follows: exhortation word of knowledge, prophecy, teaching, word of wisdom. These are called the speaking gifts. Their manifestation is speaking aloud.
Exhortation is the ability to counsel, encourage and comfort people in need with the word of God.
Prophecy is the ability to deliver special message by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to God’s people.
Teaching is the ability to train others in God’s word in-order for them to be rooted and grounded in the word of God.
Word of wisdom is the ability to receive insight as to how knowledge may be applied to specific needs.
Word of knowledge is the ability to understand things that are difficult for others to know and sharing them under the inspiration of the spirit.
All operations based on these gifts are empowered and inspired by the Holy Spirit to speak.
Every gift here differs from one and the other.
These gifts are to be used in humility God is the source of all. (1 Corinthians 8:1-2).
RESPONSE TO CHAPTER SEVEN
Speaking gifts as I have studied, some are motivational gifts among them are teaching, exhortation and prophecy. These gifts are common in the churches even at the absence of other gifts yet we are not mindful to use these gifts in edification.
In short, we should recognize these gifts because they manifest at our lower levels of services.
If today, we can pray and get ourselves more dedicated to God; our churches will experience God’s presence along with these spiritual gifts.
Personally, these were some of the motivational aspect of gifts that encouraged me at my beginning level.
All churches should teach and allow their members to function with these gifts.
We should be able to teach and differentiate these gifts from each other and not to confuse the members of them.
For you to be able to function properly, recognize the source and abide constantly in Him. Give him the glory.
CHAPTER EIGHT
SERVING GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
REFLECTION
There are nine of these gifts for serving the church by providing structure, organization, and support in both spiritual and practical areas.
These gifts are: discerning of spirits, administration, serving, helps, mercy, leadership, faith, giving and hospitality.
These gifts operate according to the measure in the individual as a body by the help of the Holy Spirit. Their operation differs and results according to the need of each other. For instance, according to Titus 15, Paul was the instructor as a leader while Titus was an administrator who makes sure that Paul’s instructions was carried out properly.
Another example is the gifts of helps and serving. Help is the ability to give a supporting hand to others in the work of the Lord to enable them be encouraged, advance or grow in the strength of their proper spiritual gifts.
While serving is the ability to carry out or to put into effect practical tasks connected to the work of the Lord.
Faith as a gift is the special ability to believe with marvelous confidence and credit God in difficult circumstances. While faith as a fruit is an attitude developed through spiritual growth.
The gift of faith makes one to believe God in all area of life and knows no impossibilities.
RESPONSE TO CHAPTER
EIGHT
These serving gifts are relevant to the body of Christ today. Even when they are not counted as speaking gift compared to the special offices and not speaking gifts to say, their values cannot be replaced by others. They may be segments of the offices yet they have assisted immensely in the body of Christ and we cannot do without them. In all areas of ministry and life, these gifts are necessary and profitable.
I encourage everyone who has indentified his areas connected to these gifts to be effective in the ministration of these gifts for efficient results at the end.
I rely wholly on the supreme God to empower me to serve, give, discern, lead, to administer, to increase in faith, to help at all time, to be merciful and hospitable with all humility and submissiveness to His will.
I advice co-ministers to pray for grace upon as many as have been given these gifts to render selfless services to the body of Christ.

SIGN GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
CHAPTER NINE – REFLECTION
God has been given bearing witnesses to His words and following the believers with signs and wonders. People want to see and believe and that is why this sign gifts is important to convince them of God’s working power. People get blessed through healing, miracles and wonderful messages from God through tongues and interpretation. These gifts are:
Miracle:- Through this gift, powerful acts are performed beyond the possibility, manifesting originally. The devil has severally been silenced through this gift. Each time the devil thinks he has succeeded, at the moment of him jubilating, a supernatural occurrence emerges to thwart his pride. He is always put in surprise when this happen. People tend to believe more in God when this happens. This also stands for an approval of the person ministering.
Healing:- This is a supernatural manifestation to make well and it is called divine healing.
Tongues:- This is the ability to receive and communicate a message of God to His people through an unknown and a language never learned.
Interpretation of Tongues:- This is a unique ability to make known and understood the language of the speaker in tongues. This is to bring forth the interpretation in the church today, except with few. This sign gifts are of great importance to the church of God.

RESPONSE TO CHAPTER NINE
Following these sign gifts according to their importance, I discovered that if the church I pastor is manifesting these gifts, the church will grow numerically and otherwise.
Personally, I can say I am more enlightened now compared to my past regarding this program. I am privileged and I will not misuse this chance. I will help others to really know them, their purposes, their differences and their Biblical guidelines relating to their usage. I will equally correct some of the wrong notions about this in the ministry and teach them very well to be able to pass across the basic information’s needed to stabilize the effectiveness of this sign gifts in their ministry. I really emphasize on the edification of this sign gifts and make them to know every bit of it.
DISCOVERING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFT
REFLECTION ON CHAPTER TEN
The word discover according to “Webster Universal Dictionary and Thesaurus”. To discover is to find or learn of for the first time”. When it has come to discovery, it means, that thing is important.
Since the ministry’s work is a spiritual one, the spiritual gift is needed and of great importance to:
Accomplish Spiritual Purpose and Objectives:
Spiritual warfare, it is by this we do strong spiritual warfare against forces of darkness.
Avoid abuses: This is most ramped among our congregations.
Avoid frustration: Many are frustrated for deviation from their gifts and not knowing their spiritual gift.
Assume your responsibility: It stir up and helps to continue one’s given responsibility.
The other side of the problem is when you have no guidance to knowing your spiritual gift. To be very sure, you have to be
Born again:- Be regenerated
Spirit Filled:- Receive the power of the Holy Ghost through Holy Ghost Baptism.
Acquainted with the spiritual gifts:- You must believe they are and identify them closely.
Observing Models of the Gifts:- Watch believers who long ago have been manifesting in the areas of their gifting. Find out some facts from them and build up profitably.
Seeking for one:- The Bible said we should covert (1 Corinthians 12:31) some still feel relaxed hoping God will help them. Desire it.
Laid Hands on:- This is not a child’s play but the impact of a refined leader to improve on you.
Able to know and analyze your spiritual interest finds out the areas in which you rejoice over a work done. And the area of your burden or passion determines.
Analyzed by a Christian leader:- But most at time some leaders fail in their analysis because of their own spiritual blindness too, if this has to be, it should be with earnest prayer to rely on man for this analysis except for few leaders.
Reference to the past Christian service is necessary.

RESPONSE TO CHAPTER TEN
It is quite necessary to know one’s spiritual gifts so that one will be able to serve and edify one and other.
It gives joy when you know your gift and keep developing on gradual basis. The fulfillment gives joy and confidence in God.
Infact, it will be discouraging to be a bench warmer without recognizing your gift. That equally gives you and impression that you are really co-laborer in His vineyard.
I give God the praise that I have been able to know my gifts, tells me that God has spiritual gift for others. I always look forth to the Holy Spirit’s manifestation each time I preach. At the early years of my ministry, I normally feel bad and inferior each time nothing happens when there was a need. One day I told God some reasons why I should be cooked and baked to done.
I was ashamed of empty words. God knows my burden and heard me. Today, nothing stop me, I am either a barrier to any obstacle. It will be quite glorious to experience this wonderful moment of the Holy Spirit’s power eruption. I am persuaded to embrace this at anytime. I love the flow of the Holy Ghost operation. My Generation will not regret having me.
CHAPTER ELEVEN REFLECTION
THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
If the Holy Spirit who indwells in us has this fruit then we should be much more enriched with this fruit of the Holy Spirit. This is the only nature that should be in the believer. This means any one who does not posses this nature is none of his. This helps to produce spiritual character in the believer. This course has produce two kinds of fruit which are outer and inner fruit of the spirit.
Outer fruit talk about “Evangelism’ which has to do with natural reproduction. God really blessed Adam and eve to be fruitful and multiply (Genesisn1:28).
Spiritual Reproduction: When God brought out the children of Israel as a “Vine” from Egypt, he expected them to bear fruit but they neglect their right and God made it an option for the Gentile nations to fulfill the Spiritual reproduction (Matthew 21:43). The most important is the inner fruit. This has to do with the qualities of the life of a believer by the Holy Spirit in (Galatians 5:22-23). This is a powerful inner quality the Holy Spirit develops in a Christian. They are Peace, Joy, Faith, Goodness, Gentleness, Love, Meekness, Temperance and Longsuffering. We have been chosen and mandated to bear this fruit.
One good aspect is about the importance of this fruit bearing. In the first place, usefulness matters. If a tree is planted for a reason and the purpose is not yielding, needless for the tree to be left standing. Jesus demand fruit from us. He want us to be fruitful. It presents us Christ-like. This is special qualities we have to produce. By this we are known and not by charisma or pretence.
RESPONSE TO CHAPTER ELEVEN
In this age, the importance of the fruit of the Holy Spirit is no more considered and this is why people creep into the fold and assume they are ministers. The fruit cannot do without the vine.
I have Joy when I experience teachings like this. I will really base on this insight and teach my members to actually examine themselves if they are partakers of this. Personally, I have been enriched knowing that I have to bear fruit and beside been chosen for this purpose; this opportunity will not be misused as the Israelites did. I will be very careful in order for this great privilege not be withdrawn, I will have to be faithful and make haste while there is still light. On subsequent basis, as I have my being; I will be fervent in the spirit and give more room for Jesus to refine me. I will be developing this fruit in Jesus name. The worst thing is after all works the master will say “I don’t know you” because of not been fruitful. This rejection will land the victims into everlasting doom.
CHAPTER TWELVE
THE WORKS OF THE FLESH –REFLECTION
The works of the flesh and the fruit of the Holy Spirit are the two natures that determines you a child of God or not. They are truly opposite to another that cannot be mixed up without been able to identify which part one belongs. Just as you cannot put a new wine in an old bottle, so it is that you cannot be mixed up and claim to be in Christ. The works of the flesh are the exhibition of the sinful nature of man induced by man’s lust. The spirit and the flesh are in great controversy with themselves. They don’t have any agreeable terms. They are in constant spiritual contrast in the believer. They are as Galatians has enumerated in Chapter 5:19-21, which are:- Adultery, Fornication, Uncleanness, Lasciviousness, Idolatry, Witchcraft, Hatred, Variance, Emulations, Wrath, Strife, Seditions, Heresies, Envying, Murderess, Drunkenness, Reveling.
Whatever a man sows he reaps of it. Those who sow in the flesh as regard the seeds in the above verses shall equally be rewarded. There is no divine inheritance for them except they repent and renounce these acts. If this is done, they become free from sin and begin to live a Holy life towards God and gradually the fruit of the maturity of faith in Christ Jesus.
Truly, the works of the flesh has been a great hindrance to the work of God. But thank God that today I personally have known the great differences in terms. I choose to develop in the fruit of Holy Spirit.
It is my earnest prayer to bear fruit as a believer. I have purposed to be fruitful according to the study.
I have learnt to lean on God to develop me to maturity.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN –REFLECTION
Developing in this aspect means bringing into maturity or improving the value of something.
The highest level of fruit bearing that has been designed for us is the permanent production level. This has to do with both the outer and the inner fruit of Christ-likeness John chapter 15 have stated the various levels. These are
1. Fruit – John 15a
2. More fruit –John 15b
3. Much fruit –John 15 5,8
4. Permanent fruit –John 15,16
5. In order to develop there are some essentials we have to admit and sicken relevant.
1. Life –Jesus is the seed of life and must dwell in you first
2. Water- The Holy spirit is the water that enhance growth in the believe, He is the water that quenches our thirst.-
3. Light –The word of God yields light that produces this fruit
4. Air-The Holy spirit refines us and set us ablaze.
5. Space –The must be separated unto God.
6. Root –System –Psalm 11-3.
7. Rest –The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is essential.
8. The Soul –The should be prepared to respond to God’s word.
9. Death –John 12:24-The seed has to die first before bearing fruit.
10. Be Attached to the vine –you can dry nothing without the vine.
11. Pruning –Distractions has to be detached.
12. Climate –Don’t influence by the world settings.
RESPONSE TO CHAPTER THIRTEEN
THE HOLY SPIRIT
DEVELOPING SPIRITUAL FRUIT.
I have study and understand the permanent production level of spiritual fruit. I have equally known the essentials needed for the development into Christ-likeness.
