CHAPTER 9
SIGN GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The sign gifts are thus called because they are supernatural sign of God’s power working through believers to confirm His word. These gifts are –miracles, healings, tongues and interpretation of tongues
• Miracles are power act ac t that is beyond the natural.
• Healing is the ability to let God’s power flow to restore health beyond the natural method .
• The gift of tongues is the ability to receive and communicate the gospel message to the people in a language unknown or never learned.
• The gift of interpretation of tongues is the special ability to make known in a language understood by every one that message spoken in tongue
Response
The sign gifts of the Holy spirit to the children –miracles, healing, tongues and interpretation of tongues was and is for a sign to the people both to the believer and the unbeliever that God exist.
The sign gifts are/is to confirm the word of God thereby making it real to the people and not just in abstract.
Mostly in our today’s world where people handly believe the world of God, we need the sign gifts to confirm every word of God that comes our of our mouth so as to be able to win the world for Christ.
 
CHAPTER 10
DISCOVERING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFT
The topic is very important and essential in every believer’s life. This is because discovery you spiritual gif helps you to accomplish spiritual purposes and objectives, conduct spiritual warfare, avoid abuse, avoid frustration, assume your responsibility etc.
There is also provided some basis steps one can take in the discovery of his spiritual gift , as we follow these steps judiciously with the help or guidance of the Holy spirit, the we shall discover our spiritual gift.
Response
I learn here that if I an called of God and I have discovered my area of calling that I could easily by that know know or discovery my spiritual gift as god givers gifts according to the call to help fulfil the call.
I also discovery that spiritual gifts is not supposed to be used as it is being used today for selfish purpose but was and is for the accomplishment of some specific purpose or assignments in the ministry. It is given for the purpose of helping the Christian or minister be effective in his work and ministry. Hence spiritual gifts should not be used for personal, selfish, abusive purpose.
 
CHAPTER 11
THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
The fruit of the holyspirit refers to the nature of the spirit revealed in the live of the believers. It speaks of character in the life of a believer while the gifts in the previous chapter s deal with power. Spiritual fruits develop with time and in the evidence of spiritual maturity
2 kinds of fruit are represented here- the outer and inner fruit
The outer speaks natural reproduction and evangelism- spiritual reproduction and as a believers we have been chosen to bear fruit through evangelism the other inner fruit speaking of Christ likeness, Godly character/qualities ; joy, peace, love etc – Gal. 5:22-23. The fruit of the Holy spirit is very important in a believers life as it reveals the true you from the inside.
RESPONSE
I learned one striking thing in the story of Jesus and the fig tree he cursed. The fig tree appeared as one with fruit with its leave green, and blossoming but when Jesus went close to partake in the fruits, it became falsehood and he was not happy because the tree did not bear fruit.
The bible places more emphasis on fruit of the spirit showing us how important the fruit is. I want to pray God to help me and my fellow Christians world wide to not only appear fruitful but to be fruitful. This is where your true identity is tested and proven.
 
CHAPTER 12
THE WORKS OF THE FLESH
The works of the flesh are characteristics of the sinful nature of man cause by lust (sinful desire). It is opposite of the fruit of the spirit there is constant battle by the works of the flesh against the spirit of the spirit to destroy it. These works are – Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, adulatory, witchcraft, hatred, variance, wrath, emulations, strife, seductions, heresies, annoying, murderers, drunkenness, revelling Gal 5:19-21. The result of this is that it will not inherit the kingdom of God except you repent. There are also provided steps to come out of this works- repent of your sins, be filled with the Holy Spirit, confess your inability as weakness to God etc. the fruit of the spirit can only develop as you work in the power of the Holyspirit.
RESPONSE
The work s of the flesh are characteristics of sinful nature caused by lust (sinful desires) His the opposite of the fruit of the spirit and as in continuous war with it to destroy this fruit in the life of a believer. There is provision for anyone who is a victim of any of these works in Christ as listed in the reflection. Also for you to be completely free and void of these works of the flesh, we need to walk constantly in the light of God’s word and of the Holy spirit.
 
CHAPTER 13
DEVELOPING SPIRITUAL FRUIT
God desire for all believer is that we bear fruit and that it should be permanent but in evangelism as in Christ likeness
Like in the natural world to develop the spiritual fruit, you need life –Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour, water, air wind – Holy spirit, light – the word of God, you need prayers, if need to separate yourself from the world and things that will cheek your Christian walk with God.
For this fruit to remain, you need constant communion with the Godhead, prayers, study the word of God fellowship with the Godhead and other members of the body of Christ is needed, transform your mind so you don’t conform to the world.
Response
The subject of spiritual fruit and how to develop it is really an interesting out and it has open me up to a lot of things. It is good to know that even God desires the every believer manifest spiritual fruit and that the fruit should to profer want to which we can develop this spiritual fruit from being just fruit –more fruit – much fruit – permanent from it. We need more or Jesus (strengthen our relation with Him the Holy spirit, the word of God, prayers, separation transformation of the mind, fellowship etc |
