REFLECTION FOR CHAPTER 11—POWER, FAITH AND WORK
Power must be operate in faith in order to work the works of God. Faith is man’s response to God’s power.
Lack of faith affects the flow of God’s power in our life. You only have the form without the power. To experience power, you must have faith, to demonstrate power you must have faith, for faith and power to be affective in the spread of the gospel, and they must be demonstrated by works.
Faith is of different types and levels so you must grow in your faith to the level that will permit the flow of God’s power. This you can achieve by continuous having of the word of God.
RESPONSE FOR CHAPTER 11—POWER, FAITH AND WORK
Faith, works and power are very essential in our life and work as a believer. Hence I have learn to grow in my faith so I can easily manifest the power of God and work the work of God. Faith is what enable power and work so without faith I can’t display the power of God nor do the work of Gods.
So lets endeavour to grow in our faith, it links God’s power with you works. ‘all things are possible’ Jesus said to him that believeth.
CHAPTER 12
POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS
REFLECTION
Here I discovered the importance of name, thte name of Jesus names are gotten or obtained, the greatest name, power in the name, what the name of Jesus can do, suffering for the name, reigning by the name, the final reference etc. names are used as a personal label so it is important to know what name you carrying.
The name of jesus was given to him in obedience when he came to the earth in human form. Like Jesus names are gotten by birth, achievement and conferming. The name of Jesus is thte greatest name and most powerful in the diverse. The name of Jesus can be used for salvation, sanctification, prayer, in all areas of ministry, signs and wonders preaching, healing, baptism, casting our devils, warthing etc..
Response
The name of Jesus is most powerful and greatest among all names in the whole universe. Like our master Jesus Christ, there is need for everyone to know what name he or she bears as names signify personal label. Your name labels you or tells more of who you are. Jesus names “saviour” the name agrees to His purpose on earth. So as to person, whether you got your name by birth, achievement, or by comfering names are important.
In the name of Jesus so many things can be accomplished as seen in the reflection.
CHAPTER 13
POWER PRINICIPLE SEVEN
THE POWER OF PRAYERS
Prayer is commission with God, and takes different form. It occurs when an talks wit God and vice verse. There are some ways prayers can be designed example . crying to God, drawing near to God seeking God etc.
Jesus made prayer a priority and every event was accompanied by prayers. Prayers is of three level, asking, seeking and knocking. There are also triple of prayer to be like praise and worship, commitment, petition, confession and repentance, intercession.
The model prayer is founding Mt 6:9 our Lord’s prayer here we also find but how to pray, what to pray, hindrances to prayer, when not to pray, prayer fasting etc.
RESPONSE
There is power in prayer like we have earlier seen, prayer is communion with God.
I have learned that for over prayers to be effective and powerful, we have to follow the laid down principle and method/model of prayer.
For my prayer to be powerful it, has to be done accurately timely etc, and prayer is to be made a priority in our live and ministry to be able to obtain the kind of result Jesus had in His days of earthly ministry.
Prayers is very important, it so a necessary and powerfully done properly.
CHAPTER 14
POWER PRINCIPLE EIGHT
THE POWER OF THE WORD
REFLECTION
The bible is the written word of the one tribe and living God.
The fullness of God’s power is experienced by power of his word.
God is the source of power and the written word and this makes it powerful. Everything in the world except man was created by the word. The bible give record of the Greek words of the word of God –Rhema and logos
The logo is the total utterance of God while the rhema refers to a specific saying of that applies specifically to a certain or special situation. The word of God is powerful even in the case of overcoming temptation. Just apply the word of God as Jesus did and you will see the effectiveness in the word power.
Response
The power of the word.
God is the source of the word of power. Outside of God, the written word will be of no use but God as the source makes the word powerful to changes things. My little argument or misunderstandins is in the area of the two Greek words used for the word of God. Logos and Rhema. Before now I was made to understand that the “Logos” word of God is the letters while the “Rhema” word of God is the revelation of God that comes to you through the letters.
Logos- death, Rhema- life but in our material it is not to please can you make that point a little comprehensive for me?
I need God to be able to benefit from his word
CHAPTER 15
POWER PRINCIPLE NINE
THE POWER OF AUTHORITY
REFLECTION
The Godhead is the greatest and highest authority. God in order to create orderliness in the word’s structures has set apart leaves of authority oversee things. Jesus was a mand of authority and He was under the authority of the father. God sets authorities in the home- Husband, wives, parents etc. authorities in the church , at work, in government etc. no man can assume the position of authority whether in the worldly set up or spiritual without God’s approval else will fail wolvely. Hence everyone should submit and obey them as there is no power except in God
Response
I have come to learn and discover here that anyone who is or has not been under any authority cannot be in authority. Thus for you to properly exerciser any authority you must properly been under authority. Also every one cannot be in authority at the same time else there will be no subject. While one is over seeing the affairs of things , the other should be ready to be the subject else the one in authority becomes useless as there is nobody to exercise the authority over.
CHAPTER 16
POWER PRINCIPLE TEN
THE POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION
Resurrection is the ability to bring back to life what was death, Jesus Christ was raised up from the death by the power of resurrection. This resurrection power is important in our lives because it is the basis for our faith, it is necessary for ……………. Confirms justification of believers it brings victory over sin/death, confirms Jesus supreme over all created being confirms Jesus was and is the son of God. The resurrection power can be experience mostly in the belivers life as it gives new hope, new life, new master, new life , new purpose, new qui ckening etc though there’s a future resurrection whereby all believers will resurrect into eternal life and all unbelievers will resurrect into eternal punishment , you can still experience the power or resurrection even now.
Response
Jesus is the source of the resurrection power as He is the resurrection and life Jn 11:25.
All who believe in Him can experience the power of resurrection even now. The power of resurrection you receive by believing in the only begotten so of God whop is now the resurrection and life in your basis for spiritual power. In other word, no power of resurrection, no spiritual power. As a believer, this power gives you a new hope that one day even is you die in this present world, you will resurrect into a newness of life, with a new master, a new life purpose etc. when you are born again, you are resurrected from the life of sin to the new life in Christ where Jesus becomes our master.
CHAPTER 17
POWER PRINCIPLES
THE POWER OF SUFFERING
REFLECTION
Suffering is one of the means or ways God demonstrate His power. Though in human reasoning it is just a waste of a great and noble life but in God’s reasoning it is the greatest demonstration of His power. The power of God is disguised in weakness. Suffering was not in God’s plan of creation but came in as a result of sin. Suffering might come into your life through others around you, circumstance of life, your ministry, direct satanic activity, your own sin etc. the power though suffering trans can bad to God, losses to wins, weakness to strength, to test your faith, to equip you to strength others, to teach you not to trust in yourself, to prepare you for the ministry etc. God is always there with you in the time of suffering.
Response
There is power in suffering to demonstrate the power of God through you. You cannot obtain spiritual power that comes through resurrection with out first going through the suffering aspect of it. True spiritual power is demonstrated in midst of crises, suffering, problems etc. To every suffering, we face or go through, there is a blessing in disguise if we are in His will so there is no point to panic or put up a wrong attitude in suffering and finally, learnt that in every divine suffering, God is in the midst of it. He never lives you alone in suffering.
CHAPTER 18
HOW TO EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF GOD
The power of God flows from its source (Jesus Christ) and if we following the few steps under listed it will help us experience this power. Fasting and prayers receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, faith; apply biblical power principles, corporate power etc. if we take these steps seriously, and with humility, then the power of God we shall experience. Also the law of use and increase is to be out into consideration. Most people get the power and never will use it but just pocket it and them it there. It is of no use every experiencing the power in the first place. For the power to grow and increase in us then we must make use of the power.
RESPONSE
The power of God cannot be experienced or gotten from any other source but Jesus Christ. This power is to enable us in this service. I have learned the view steps one can take to experience God’s power and also how to keep growing in this experience. I learned the law of use and increase drawn to us from the parable of talent. The more power God gives to you, use it and it will increase and grow but on the other hand if you don’t use it you stand to loss it. The power of God was not to be kept in confinement.
CHAPTER 19
POWER FAILURE
In the spiritual world, power failure is experience in cases where spiritual progress comes to a stand still. In as much as there are causes of natural power failure, there also exact causes of spiritual power failure. For instance- sin, bondages, violation of power principles reigning instead of serving, personal profit, emulations, wrong motives, unbelief, limiting God etc one of the greatest examples of power failure is seen in a case when the believer lacks or lost his spiritual authority – Act 19:13-16. Whenever spiritual power failure is discovered, then the causers must be seriously look into and corrected in order for the power of God to resume its unhindered flow.
Response
Power failure is a reality both in the natural and spiritual world. This topic has help to prepare me ahead of time by revealing to me the possible causes of spiritual power failure for guidance and if peradventure I still experience this power in spite of my carefulness then I have learned also hoe to come out of it before taking close look at the possible cause of it, get it corrected and thereby giving the power to God the free atmosphere to operate with out being hindered.
CHAPTER 20
FACING THE OPPOSITION
In our context, opposition can be described as any force that challenges true spiritual power. Satan is always the man behind every opposition or challenge to true spiritual power. Like our master Jesus Christ, the authority we have as believers will be challenged or opposed because of unbelief, doctrine, popular opinion, tradition, credentials, manner of teaching, spiritual error, misuse, your life walk etc. to be able to overcome these opposition, you must recognise the source, don’t spend time in debate, face the opposition don’t run away, take authority for we as believers have been given power authority over all our enemy.
Response
The issue of standing on your two feet to face the opposition you face in life and ministry has always been difficult for most people including Christians. Here I have discovered that Satan will not give up on opposing or challenging the power of God in your life except you run away and deny Him. Satan’s duty is to oppose true spiritual power but my responsibility is to stand and face the opposition by the power and authority given to me by master Jesus Christ. |
