REFLEXION ON THE LECTURE - HISTORY OF CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALITY CHAPTER ONE CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A RELIGION Right from my youthful age I have discovered that people have misinterpreted this word religion to mean Christianity. Religion is unbelief, it is a concern of godless man who a carnal man. Religion is feeble and arrogant and hopeless, it carries no life in it. It has nothing to relate to the power of God. It is a complete faction which brought many souls into confusion. No religion can stand before the grace of God as true religion. Religion is completely a mess; it is bringing people down to the pit of hell. People that are still in it are completely in darkness and Satanic bondage, but revelation takes people to a greater height. Religion therefore is a loser, a strictly fallen activities, it has a fell past and a bankrupt future which if not Jesus no remedy for it. Jesus had died and risen to set us free from all religion rites and tied ups. The church is not in the religion business rather it is the gospel proclaiming business and the gospel is the glad tidings that all men fused into it and have flow relationship with God the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. The good news of Jesus Christ is setting free from future bankrupts to eternal life and that is to come. THE ABUSE OF HUMANITY IN RELIGION When humans have a desire in belonging to the religion, it offers false fulfillment in the encouragement to get involve in the fellowship of our community and man’s desire for security will be offered. The secured provision will be always offered. All these offers are faulty. This religion counterfeit are nothing less than an abuse of humanity instead of leading mankind out of the addictive. Faults fulfillment of their God given desire, religion offer nothing but another form of addictive dysfunctions. In reality, religion is the devil’s platform or play ground, so any system of religion is Satanic in religion no matter how beautiful the package might appear to be. Satan is the author of do good. CHAPTER TWO CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A BOOK RELIGION . The book Bible is a book which is like every other book in the world. It is a book that has so many colors, it is a tangible, perishable object. It is a book that is divided into two sections; the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is 39 small books and the New Testament is 27 small books. It is a book that carries revelations and it is the only book that you have to know the author before understand the book. God never intended that we should worship the book that is making into a physical idol. Christians are encouraged to trust in the name of Jesus Christ for salvation, for He is our Saviour, not the Bible. The personal indwelling life for salvation will receive (Him) Jesus by faith not by trusting in the Bible. Paul indicates that only Jesus is our hope. Peter was telling the Jewish leaders that there is no salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under the heavens that is given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12) other than the name of Jesus Christ. The best thing to do with the Bible is to know it in your head, stow it in your heart, sow it in the world and show it in your life. The Bible does not produce righteousness. Righteousness is only produced in the behaviour of mankind. When the righteous one, Jesus Christ dwells in man, and the righteous character of God is expressed in man behaviour has he walks by faith. It is the Holy Spirit that convict of sin, not the Bible itself. Those who reject the Bible as God written words also reject Jesus Christ as the Living word. To reject one is to reject both, God has not stop to be God because man has experience a fallen state in the Garden of Eden. God’s intention was to express Himself through man, for to cease to express Himself, He could cease to be God. Old Testament law and the function points to Jesus Christ, there had made an idol out of Torah which they were worshipping the book. The law, the torah rather than God, It is not the Bible that will teach us all things but the Spirit of God, that’s the continuous presence of God. The Scripture says, I will go and when I go I will send you a comforter, encourager, which is the Holy Spirit, which the Father will send in my name. he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. The spirit of the Living God has released us from the laws and the band so that we saved in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letters. In the early church, most of the Christians were illiterate people, they could not know how to read and write but when gathered they encourage each other to grow in the faith, and in the early decade of the church what we know as New Testament had not been written yet. Yes the early Christian normally come together to share with one another the Living word and what the Spirit of Christ was doing in them. Jesus did not say, I am the object of Bible information and you shall know it most thoroughly and accurately rather HE said, I am the way, the truth and the life. I came that you might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10)
