B.G. AGBOR- REFLECTIION & RESPONSE LESSON 3 REFLECTION
Show me the man that ever said there is no God and I will show you the one that is the fool!
This very chapter has really bulldozed the walls of doubts that have ever existed to insinuate that God does not exist. From the explanation in this chapter, it is now very clear that it is absolute foolishness for any man to say there is no God, because there is a lot really great evidence that God does in fact exist.
The natural human quest for a more superior being shows that man is never complete without a particular significant thing. That significant thing is God. This quest for a missing significant unknown (but more superior) is so serious that those who are denied a god, usually go crazily in search of another even up to the extend of fabricating one for themselves. It is highly indisputable that “we humans arrive on this earth incomplete, sensing a deep need within our souls for the divine. And this is the God-shaped void in each heart”. This is also the reason we always long to exist for something greater.
Another point that appears not arguable is that of the sense of right and wrong . A child that is born today and put in some kind of an enclosure with no knowledge of the outside, will still grow up to know that killing another human is not right(is evil). The law in Africa says no man should kill his fellow, the law in America says the same thing, likewise the law in Europe, Asia and all over the world. Which universal school did they all attend to learn this? Even little children would cry high when their brothers or sisters are handled rough. That is to express the protest that the way you treat their brothers is inhuman. How then did all these come? Perhaps there could be an in-womb school, and if there is, then it must be one teacher that goes around teaching the same thing to all. That teacher is then the same personality in question, He is God.
God is known to be omnipresent, omniscience and omnipotent, so, for anyone to investigate the existence of God, he himself must be omnipresent to be able to investigate the omnipresent, he must also have to be omniscience to investigate the omniscience and he must be omnipotent to investigate the omnipotent, which would resultantly mean that the man himself is God.
RESPONSE
Human science that mostly tries to dispute the existence of God even contradicts itself and began to tell us that there is the existence of some hidden creator somewhere. Science always talks about people discovering things and not creating them.
Somebody discovered electrons, another discovered electricity, another discovered radio waves and so on. Even sea routs were discovered, which means, someone else had created all these things and kept only for us to discover.
I have discovered one thing here, that those who argue so much against the existence of God are even the ones who prove that there is God somewhere. For them in the first place to be able to think of an argument and putting it up under a caption that contains the word (God), shows their attempt to want to say that there could definitely be some creator somewhere. They are just not happy that they can’t see Him.
God is a spirit and it is so true that He is. I now begin to wonder how they would ever have thought of looking for an almighty spirit like God Himself among they physical. I wish someone could just seat them down and let them know not to worry, that we understand God and His existence because we have been so spiritually elevated to work with Him.
There is the way one can look for God that He could be found, and there is also the way one can seek to know Him and He would be known. Not this way they try, they can only end up wounding their hearts, whereas God remains where and how He is. The only way remains the one in the Bible, where it is written “I am the way the truth and the light, no one comes to the Father but by me”. The only way to the Father is through the Son Jesus Christ. We have known God through the Son. Any other person can still know Him through the Son because He is the only way to the Father.
